The Challenge

In an era where broadband access is essential for economic growth, education, and public services, underserved rural communities often face significant digital disparities. Central Electric Power Cooperative (CEPC), a not-for-profit generation and transmission provider in South Carolina, recognized this gap as a critical challenge for the more than 800,000 homes and businesses it serves.

Infinera and BlueAlly’s Solution

To address this, CEPC partnered with BlueAlly and Infinera to design and deploy a next-generation, high-capacity optical transport network that is transforming connectivity across South Carolina’s rural landscape.

Leveraging Infinera’s XTM Series packet optical platform and BlueAlly’s expertise in design, integration, and implementation, CEPC now supports both its utility operations and regional broadband initiatives through a robust 200G fiber backbone.
