The Client

The client is a multinational organization offering managed business travel that delivers clearer, simpler decision-making for corporate enterprises.

This travel industry focused client engaged BlueAlly to address a data center consolidation initiative. As planning progressed, leadership and local account teams surfaced additional needs, and senior purchasing became involved to coordinate approvals and pricing. This evolving scope ultimately incorporated disaster recovery requirements alongside the original consolidation effort.

The Challenge

The client first approached BlueAlly to consolidate its data center footprint. What began as a straightforward consolidation quickly evolved: during discovery, disaster recovery emerged as a critical requirement, expanding the scope and shaping the path forward. The engagement needed to account for both the immediate consolidation goal and the newly surfaced resiliency needs to ensure the right-fit solution.

The BlueAlly Solution

BlueAlly listened closely to the client’s needs and business trajectory. The original plan, a single Dell PowerStore 7000T, grew to include PowerStore 9200T and 3200T arrays. As disaster recovery needs came into scope, the design added Dell Data Domain DD6900 and Dell DS6620B SAN switches, along with Dell Backup & Recovery and SAN switching.

This was a tightly coordinated effort with Dell, who worked in lockstep with BlueAlly, proactively communicating with senior purchasing and providing additional discounting where needed, demonstrating strong channel commitment and support.

The Outcome

The engagement expanded from a single array to multiple, larger PowerStore arrays, complemented by backup, recovery, and SAN components, delivering a solution that exceeded the client’s expectations and underscoring the value of strong relationships with account teams and leadership.
