Challenges

Although the organization had invested in Microsoft 365 licenses with advanced security and compliance features, they were underutilized. The team relied heavily on third-party tools and outsourced services, resulting in fragmented oversight, increased costs, and limited insight into data activity. The organization needed a unified, Microsoft-native approach to simplify governance, improve visibility, and reduce risk.

Solution Provided

As part of AllyCare for M365, BlueAlly deployed AllyCare Guardian to assess, harden, and optimize the client’s Microsoft environment. This included:

  • Configuring sensitivity labels to classify and manage access to internal and guest data
  • Implementing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to prevent unauthorized sharing
  • Applying retention policies to enforce proper data lifecycle management
  • Conducting regular policy reviews and tuning to support evolving compliance needs
  • Delivering Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to align stakeholders and drive continuous improvement

Implementation

BlueAlly worked closely with internal IT leadership, aligning remediation efforts with business goals and capacity. A phased implementation allowed for minimal disruption while steadily improving controls across identity, device, and content layers. The AllyCare team provided ongoing technical assistance, policy optimization, and strategic guidance throughout the engagement.

Conclusion

Through AllyCare for M365, BlueAlly enabled one of the world’s leading aquariums to modernize its cloud security, reduce complexity, and build a foundation for long-term compliance and operational efficiency. This engagement demonstrates how proactive support and Microsoft-native tooling can replace fragmented systems and deliver lasting value.
