Faced with aging infrastructure and growing service demands, the client needed a resilient, scalable, and cost-effective networking solution. Their existing hardware—legacy Extreme Networks gear inherited from a Brocade acquisition—was no longer able to meet performance and stability expectations.

BlueAlly reengaged with the client, offering a modern network refresh that delivered on performance, reliability, and forward-looking design. The collaboration focused on deploying Juniper’s advanced core routers and integrating DDoS mitigation to protect against service disruptions.

The Results

BlueAlly helped the client transition from problematic legacy hardware to a robust Juniper-based architecture, tailored to handle complex Layer 3 routing across multiple locations. The deployment included:

  • Seven core sites outfitted with Juniper core routers for both edge and core network roles.
  • Upgrade to Juniper Networks® MX304 Universal Routing Platform in 2023, enabling 400Gbps capabilities and superior port density.
  • Implementation of Corero DDoS mitigation to defend against upstream attacks and safeguard downstream clients.

The phased upgrade addressed both operational bottlenecks and security concerns, while positioning the client for continued regional expansion.
