As the system aged, our client faced reliability issues, security vulnerabilities, and limited features, driving it to seek third-party assistance in completing its complex systems upgrade. The stakes for completion of this project could not have been higher, as the care campus needed to maintain communications amid the migration to continue facilitating critical patient services.

The BlueAlly Solution

The project began with a parallel buildout strategy, which involved designing a migration approach to deploy the new virtualized environment on Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) server hardware with VMware hypervisors, while integrating with the legacy system for pre-migration testing.

Our validation processes included rigorous testing of new applications related to call control, voicemail, E911, and paging integration functions. With this preparation complete, our engineers then worked with our client’s technical teams to migrate system data, users, and endpoints overnight within a 12-hour window to minimize operational disruption. By collaborating side by side during the migration, our team ensured that any issues were addressed immediately, resulting in a zero-defect transition that aligned with the continuing care campus’s operational needs.
